Compliance with Applicable Rules, Regulations and
Requirements
Policy Statement:
All employees will follow appropriate independence, integrity, and
objectivity requirements. These requirements include regulations,
interpretations and rulings of the AICPA, state CPA societies, state boards of accountancy, state statutes, the
Securities and Exchange Commission, IRS and other regulatory agencies where
appropriate.
Implementation: The
CPA firm carry out this policy using the following procedures:
- Make more available and to continue
using a manual that has the CPA firm's policies and procedures in regards
to independence, objectivity and integrity. These policies and
procedures contain the CPA firm's clarified meaning of professional and
regulatory needs, and guidance for identifying and settling potential
issues or situations.
- Appointing one of its partners to supply
guidance, answer questions and settle situations and decide on a
condition that might require consultation with sources outside the CPA
firm.
- Identifying conditions where an official
writing can be used as evidence of the settling of matters is applicable
- Getting written statement from employees
upon hire and on an annual basis, stating whether they have knowledge of
and are in compliance with professional standards and the CPA firm's
policies and procedures in regards to independence, integrity, and
objectivity.
- Appointing someone who is responsible
for getting representation, reviewing compliance files for completeness,
and settling reported exceptions to the CPA firm's quality control
employee.
- Demanding the officer regularly
review unpaid fees from clients to determine whether any outstanding
amounts impair the CPA firm's independence.
