Appropriateness of Guidance Materials

Policy Statement:
The CPA firm will consider and evaluate, on a regular basis, the suitability of its guidance materials and any practice aids.

Implementation: The CPA firm will carry out this policy through the following procedures:

Reviewing and updating the CPA firm technical practice aids, such as audit programs, forms, and checklists, based on the issuance of new professional pronouncements.
Giving out guidance about new professional standards, regulatory requirements, and related changes to the CPA firm policy.
Obtaining comments from managers as to the effectiveness of practice aids and tools.
Giving guidance during staff meetings or other training regarding new professional standards, regulatory requirements, and related changes to the CPA firm practice aids.
