Hiring
Policy Statement:
Employees or others who are hired will possess the applicable
attributes to enable them to do their duty competently.
Implementation:
The CPA firm carry out this policy through the following
procedures:
- Appointing an officer or other qualified
individual in each office to be responsible for handling the personnel
function, which includes:
- Determining that practice CPA firm’s
personnel needs.
- Setting hiring goals based on criteria
such as clientele, anticipated growth, personnel turnover, and
individual advancement.
- Making and keeping personnel policies
and procedures that identify characteristic, achievements, and
experiences wanted in entry level and experienced personnel.
- Setting standards to evaluate personal
attributes such as integrity, competence, and motivation.
- Establishing outlines of policy as to additional
steps that are necessary when hiring experienced personnel, such as
doing background checks and inquiring about any outstanding regulatory
actions.
- Locating sources of potential employees
such as universities and executive recruiters, and coordinating the
hiring process within the CPA firm.
- Picking and making proficient in the
skills the individuals who will be interviewing potential employees

evaluating the results of the hiring process for each potential employee and
giving final approval for hiring.
